War of the Worlds - 70th Anniversary Broadcast

Greetings,

In order to help raise funds their non-profit show at the Dickens Christmas Fair, La Legion Fantastique, a theatrical troupe based in San Francisco, CA, intends to stage a “re-enactment” of the infamous 1938 CBS broadcast of “The War of the Worlds” (written by Howard Koch and based upon the novel by H.G. Wells) - to be performed at the historic Castro Theatre.

The tentative date for the event will be of the official 70th anniversary, 2008!

This blog is intended to be an informational resource for anyone interested in our show. We have articles on the history, the people, and the materials that influenced this most famous of radio broadcasts.

    I would like to tell you that my Grandfather was Frank Readick
    who played reporter Phillips… Its nice to see the broadcast
    and old time radio being kept alive. Thank you.
