Rehearsals – Catching up!
So, it has been some time since I have updated this show’s blog. What with a wedding, several deaths, a major surgery, and a job change…”life” has just “been happening”.
Our show is cast, and it has been a heck of a ride. I cannot stress enough just how TALENTED my cast is. Some of them are film and stage professionals while others just amazing “ringers” who popped in out of the blue! Rehearsals have been held in a little Veterans’ Hall in El Cerrito…on nights where everyone is either tired from work or from the crazy commute. I applaud and thank my cast for putting up with the inconvenience…I think it’s all paying off.
We’ve also been casting our nets out there with fliers and advertising, with the hopes of filling the house (1400 seats) on the ONE NIGHT we get to perform.
We’ve had some other emergencies withing the cast (some people dropping…some people ill), but they’ve easily been dealt with .
One thing can be said about this show…it is a survivor – mostly through the drive and determination that our cast seems to have.
Tomorrow night, (Monday, Oct. 20) we finally get to rehearse in The Castro for the first (and only) time. We’ll be nailing down sound and technical issues as well.
P.S. 9 Days to go!
